gingerbob
Just stumbled into this project, but wow. Not only an obviously well done "parts-bash", but also extremely well presented. Looking forward to the dramatic conclusion! bob Iain
Iain
Thanks guys - more pattern work this week - and just got back from trip to get some more VIVAC PETG sheets - so I have more opportinuty to waste some more trying to get the perfect vac! BiG thank you to wunwinglow for help and advice on vacuumforming clear parts at our club the other night (Wiltshire Scale Model Society if anyone in the area fancies joining - brilliant club with a number of LSP members!). Hopefully a positive update some point tomorrow. Blue Skies! Iain LSP_Kevin
Iain
Still not quite there with the vacs - arghhh... Wife and son are going away for a few days until Saturday evening - so hopefully some more vac pulls over the next few evenings! #wishmeluck Really want/need to get this one off the decks... Iain
Hmmm - more vacs - more *really* minor imperfections. Have a centre section that only had one minor flaw - have sanded that out an now polishing, which is a slow process with PETG - but is doable. So, a few hours polishing tonight - will post when I have a result! Iain
Astro32
Stunning Iain! I could see Trumpy's 24th Spit on floats done up as a 2-seater. A neat what-if idea! Iain

Iain
Looks like we may have something that is serviceable! Polishing is coming up nicely - hopefully this is *the* one and we can get it trimmed and fitted. Iain
OK - needs more polishing (and still some Novus plastic polish residue in the photos) - but this is where we're at - with a little more trimming needed on the vac part - but very almost there: Definately a good step forward! Iain
This morning, in natural daylight, I can see more flaws in the surface of the new moulding (fine surface scratches) - but hopefully they will polish out - will have a go later.
