ZachP319
Ok well here we go off to the races! The WNW kit with Pheon decals. I am going to do the Blue machine of Group Captain Arthur Longmore stationed in Mosul Iraq in 1923 I am not always good about keeping up with in progress threads but I will try and do better with this one. ZachP319
Ok so not a ton of progress so far but I did get the Liberty V12 built. I used some washes to make it look used some. I am likely going to leave the upper cowling off to show the engine. I have also been working on the wood areas for the interior and honestly I really enjoy woodgraining for the effect when done but it is a very tedious process with the long dry time of the oil paints. It always causes my builds to start off kinda slow for WW1 types. As a fill in project I was working on my Wright Flyer but was getting a little frustrated trying to get the right fabric look on the wings so I set that aside and pulled out the revell DH82. I may start a thread on that one as it is proving rather fun to add bits and details to. Anyway more as I go along on this one.... OldTroll
Thinning the oil paint with some Japan Drier will speed up the drying time significantly.
Bomber_County
I do like the look of the DH9A, perhaps it be be my first WnW, pulling up a chair
TimW
Most cool. I'm debating about doing an RAF or Soviet one with my extra Nineack (early model)
karimb
Super start Zach! I'll be tagging along. The engine looks superb. May i suggest you use Uschi's Blitz Dry as a desiccant for the oils, or any for that matter just so happens i use blitz dry. It will take the oil drying times from days down to a couple of hours! Looking forward to more progress! Karim
MikeC
Nice, I'm quite inspired to bring mine out. Trouble is, I can't decide which scheme, perhaps I'll have to get another. Following.

Following. That has been my problem. I was quite taken with doing a Polikarpov R-1 for a while but then decided to get the Pheon RAF sheet. I could do another but on the other hand I think I might want to do a USMC one from the early kit......ah choices how you confound me sometimes....sigh...
