B-17F The Mustang / Lady Luck

Hello to you all

I know im still working on the mosquito but work is going slow with all the painting going on so i dicieded to start the beast of the stash

The wife is happy off course i prommisd here to build this one for here

 

this will be a long term project for me

 

so here are the pics before the start

so first step will be the nose section

i know there is a lot off discussion about the intirior colors but i will go for a metal one for this part

i hope to do a update soon

And you'd be absolutely correct, Mark.

 

Never, at any point in B-17 production was 'Interior Green' used, either. The only painted area was the flight deck, which was Bronze (or Dark Dull) Green. The remainder of the interior, from nose to tail, was left in bare metal. 

 

The exposed metal areas of the cockpit were painted DDG, with the side walls covered in olive green padding. 

 

Floors throughout were wooden with black anti-slip matting.

 

There is some evidence that certain batches of the F model had the bomb bays painted in neutral grey, but there's nothing definitive.

Good luck with the build-

 

I can recommend the HGW seatbelts set as one version comes with very nice resin seat cushions plus US Air Corps decals for the pilot's seats.

Mark, now that's one hell of a lot of AM to put on this Fort.........
