kikka
it looks like it could be a resin part , maybe two halves for each side to ease the moulding/pouring ?
1to1scale
So this may have been answered before, but, I can’t seem to find the answer. I have been trying to figure out the Kittyhawk F-5E, it seems that the kit, has many variants. As boxed, what does this kit represent? What version, year range, and country does this represent? Is this kit a mixup or is there a specific application, if built out of the box, it represents? Smokey
Ivan Ivanovich
Built out of the box the kit fairly accurately represents a late, RWR-equipped F-5E with an, technically speaking, incorrect (early) F-5E instrument panel lacking the RWR-specific display and dials. As such. it's a great kit. This given (and again, technically speaking), and based on the included decal marking options, the suggested F-5N VFC-111 markings (ex-Swiss AF F-5E's) are the closest representations of the box content, only requiring dfferent instrument panels (pre- and post-2008 INS upgrade) plus the addition of the post-2008 fuselage spine GPS dome. [EDIT] In fact, RSAF F-5E "873" is the closest representation of the box content - shave off the RWR fairings, the dorsal VHF antenna base, omit the chaff/flare dispenser, and Bob's your uncle. In principle, any other of the suggested marking options needs more or less extensive modifications. 1to1scale
Yes, that is a great guide. So now I ask, why did KH make a kit thats a mixup of versions, what were they studying to make such a frankenstein? I am going to print out your list and stick it in the box.
