AdamR
Hi Adam, If those are the cannon fairings you are using and you are doing a "C" wing - they look to be a little short. More like the ones you would see outboard when two cannon are fitted. Cheers Ugh. I'll look into it. If that's the case, they will probably have to be sawed out of the wing and surgical reconstruction performed to fair new ones in. Edit: Yep, they're wrong. Thanks for the heads-up...l think. Tim Carroll
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but now better that later, mate. If you get one of those really fine etch saws and cut between the plastic and brass until you hit metal. Then twist the cannon gently - the super glue may shear. Super glue is weak against shear - sideways movement. Here's hoping, as it looks like a nice build. Cat_baloo
Man, rookie error. That's not a holier-than-thou moment though. Ever put wings on upside-down . . .? yiC Rossky Edited November 14, 2016 by Cat_baloo
AdamR
Thanks, Tim. Even when the news is bad it's worthwhile! Thanks for the suggestion on removing the barrels. mpk

Hubert Boillot
This kind of mistakes happen. I remember a published article in Wingmasters on building the Kinetic 1/48 Hawkeye, where the builder had glued the main landing gears with the wheels facing outwards And in a similar vein, one of my buddies showing us his latest build of a 1/72 F-15, and he had glued the MLG (again) with the wheels facing inwards Hubert mpk

joe
I placed the stars and bars on Tamiya 1/32 f-4j upside down on the under the wing without realising until I took some pics and posted it for inspection. Couldnt sleep for 2 years so I fixed it, now I sleep a little better, sometimes. Zero77
There was a guy that did a accurate miniatures B-25 Mitchell that was beautifully done. He had entered it in a show and then realized that he had the stars and bars on one side upside down with the point facing down Ok, he was certainly a satanist. MikeC
I did see a B-24 looking a little odd once: took me longer than it should to realise the fins were upside down. It's only a Spitfire... D Where's my flaming torch and pitchfork? As for this Spitfire hoping it's fixable. Interesting scheme with the blue: is this Prince Emmanuel Galitzine's lightened high flyer by any chance? The photograph makes it look bluer than it looks "in person." I blame Nikon. mpk

Yep, Nikon dunnit, although I think my monitor may be an accessory after the fact. mpk
Phartycr0c
could have been worse, you could have put the barrel in upside down.
