Hasegawa 1/48 Kawanishi N1K1-Ja Shiden

Here is my recently completed N1K1-Ja Shiden in 1/48 scale.  This is the Hasegawa kit and the only aftermarket I used was some of the out-of-production Eduard PE detail set designed for the Tamiya kit.  Tamiya acrylics were used on the top and Alclad II was used on the bottom.

Thank you for all of the comments... even the nit-picky ones!

The kit was a smooth, drama-free build with excellent fit all around.  I utilized some of the out-of-production Eduard PE detail set that was designed for the Tamiya kit to spruce up the internal details but the cockpit all but disappears due to the curvature of the fuselage.

The engine was wired but that gets hidden by the spinner.

That is lovely! Fantastic work on the variegated paint finish, too. Very convincing, and without having to resort to a patchwork quilt of preshading!

Actually... I did use preshading on the panel lines as I do on all of my builds.
