Thunnus
Here is my recently completed N1K1-Ja Shiden in 1/48 scale. This is the Hasegawa kit and the only aftermarket I used was some of the out-of-production Eduard PE detail set designed for the Tamiya kit. Tamiya acrylics were used on the top and Alclad II was used on the bottom. mywifehatesmodels, Shaka HI, Shawn M and 3 others
mywifehatesmodels
Fantastic George! Wow! I need to make a meme with the "Most Interesting Man in the World" that says, "I don't always use Tamiya paints.....but when I do, it's for an IJN aircraft". Stellar work, John! Shaka HI
Very nice, I hope Dale sees this... My only minor nitpick would be that the canopy/windscreen seems to clean for the way the aircraft has been weathered. But wow, I must build this aircraft in LSP-style! mpk and LSP_K2
LSP_Kevin
That is lovely! Fantastic work on the variegated paint finish, too. Very convincing, and without having to resort to a patchwork quilt of preshading! Kev LSP_K2 and mpk

Thunnus
Thank you for all of the comments... even the nit-picky ones! The kit was a smooth, drama-free build with excellent fit all around. I utilized some of the out-of-production Eduard PE detail set that was designed for the Tamiya kit to spruce up the internal details but the cockpit all but disappears due to the curvature of the fuselage. The engine was wired but that gets hidden by the spinner. That is lovely! Fantastic work on the variegated paint finish, too. Very convincing, and without having to resort to a patchwork quilt of preshading! Kev Actually... I did use preshading on the panel lines as I do on all of my builds.
