cib2265
I've never really thought about it before, but I'd say that that is the general trend around these parts. We've always seen the highly-weathered trend as more of a European thing. You can find models finished in every which way here, though. Kev That was my assessment after attending my first show recently, I tend towards a realistic weathering style, but even that is considered dirty by local standards! Yes and I hope the excessively over weathered and cartoonish 'Spanish school' style stays well away from our island home! Eric. Thankfully yes the Spanish artistic style hasnt taken over, but preshading and stark single color washes as standard "weathering" is done a little too much for my own personal taste. For WW2 subjects in particular, no fading or scuffing - or even chipping - just doesn't look right. For modern subjects, jets are dirty, just in a different way, streaking and staining especially. But the hobby is a spectrum, we each have our own tastes and goals for what we want to achieve. Scale32
