Yes, different tones of Alclad lacquers are used.

Love this build and love this kit. I wish Hasegawa would hurry up and do a razorback version.

Exactly Adam, I do not understand why they (Hasegawa or Tamiya) did not produce a Razorback version until this time

  I only wish, but Just can't see it happening any time soon, if ever as we already have both the Hasegawa and Trumpeter kits that would have really decreased the need for a 3rd kit unless it's up the standards of the Mossie, and then it would be priced out of the range of many modelers.

I'd actually rather have a razorback by Hasegawa than another "superkit" from Tamiya.

 

Hasegawa's bubble top '47 is the perfect combination of detail and simplicity, AFAIC. Aside from the cowling fit issue, the kit is exactly what I want from a manufacturer.
