monthebiff
So I've decided to try and complete a few stalled builds this year and after watching John's (Thunnas) beautiful build come together it gave me the motivation to bring it back to the bench! After unpacking it all and familiarising myself with where I got to I decided Inwasnt happy with the cockpit paint work so a re-spray was necessary and after a few evenings of work this is where I am up too. Rightly or wrongly I decided to have a mix of interior green and dull dark green cockpit interior after reading Dana Bells excellent book. Barracuda cockpit decals added which as ever worked perfectly. Just need to add some HWG belts and some weathering and then the fuselage can be closed up. So pleased Inhave picked this build up again as it's the first time I have touched a Tamiya kit in ages and I'd forgotten just how damn good they are!! Brett M
Welcome back to the Corsair! Looks like a great start on the cockpit, nicely built. monthebiff and USMC Herc
Thunnus
Great to see you dust this one off Andy! The Tamiya kit is amazingly well engineered and it almost feels like it is building itself. Your cockpit looks great! monthebiff

MikeC
I seem to have missed this when you started this, so I'm pleased you've revived it now. Some great work so far. Following. monthebiff
Thank you all for your words of encouragement after dusting this one off, some more work done with the cockpit tub now complete. And then closed up between the fuselage halves. Very happy with progress so far, will get the fuselage finished up and then move on to the engine. I have the Eduard Brassin cowl set on order so will be interesting to see what it's like but if it's anything like their Fw190 resin sets then the fit against the kit parts will be excellent. Thunnus
Great progress Andy! I used the Vector cowl flaps so I'm very curious to see the more comprehensive Eduard cowling set. monthebiff

John1
JT150 - is that the Corsair that’s on the bottom of Lake Sebago, ME? Edited February 12, 2020 by John1
Wolf Buddee
Lookin’ good so far Andy. Don’t forget to bend the hardware at the ends of the shoulder harness straps 90 degrees. I’m wondering though if the FAA Corsairs were delivered with Sutton harness? Cheers, Wolf monthebiff
rigor
I believe I could be wrong that corsair sitting at the bottom of lake sebago was a ferry flight that crashed they say it's a war grave ??? I do know some Firm wanted to rise it but a lot of people made a big stink about it. Oh nice lake been there many times
