This was raised a while back...

The A-6E TRAM seems to have a much bulkier hood that has a deeper rectangular base than the original fitting, which translates into a tough old boot similar to this...

or maybe more like this partly obscured view...

Scratch building it with scrap plastic, flex or whatever is probably the best method.

It would really help to have good photos or diagrams of this installation.

Here's a side view of the later hood. Not sure if anyone has taken it on yet Bill. But given the faceted, box-like shape, it would not be too difficult to fabricate from scratch: sheet plastic sides with a Milliput face guard, perhaps.

Personally, I'm glad I'm intending to build a PAT/ARM A-6B with the old hood.

I heard about the TRAM monstrosity but, hey, it did the job before modern displays could conquer daylight

Going between a Victorian era large format camera shroud and daylight was no good for either checking six or focusing on vital displays.

As my late father would say, switching between an astrocompass sextant and a clonk-and-clod radar display on Bristol Britannias, "piss off, I'm busy!"
