Old Dog Flying
Steve: That is exactly what I posted earlier. As an experienced re finisher, using self-etching primer on aluminum is a must whether a 1: scale or anything else. I decant the primer from the rattle can into my air brush then spray two light coats followed by a light sanding with 1500 wet/dry paper. Then apply the colour coat. I recently applied a custom flame job on my son's Harley and it is beautiful. Iain and airscale

airscale
morning ladies you are looking at the happiest modeller on the internet I painted the stripes yesterday with Radu's masks and I leave it to you to decide, but I think they look incredible - not a single bleed or touch-up, this is as it looked as I peeled them off.. used tape to bind the mask lines together & align.. ..and bingo ..learned a lot for next time and I am ecstatic with the results (which I never normally am with anything I do, but this is painting afterall ) Breathtakingly beautiful Peter! Telford? Iain Thanks Iain - yep Telford - class 18, just got my entry form, so now I have to finish it on to the race numbers and 'nose art' happy days TTFNPeter r0t0rdr1ver, KUROK, TorbenD and 9 others

airscale
Naaah, this is all Peter, I only played a tiny part. :-) Radu that is simply not true - Radu didn't just make the masks but also provided the guidance that meant I could make them work I am forever in your debt, and converted to this way of doing things.. I feel like I am on fire now, just did the race numbers and again a perfect outcome... fuselage.. ..one big number on the wing.. ..the result ..such a relief, I am so pleased with it TTFN Peter patricksparks, TaffyMan, LSP_Kevin and 12 others
dodgem37
YOW! Love that edge. Two Masters working with one another. Great stuff. Sincerely, Mark airscale
dmthamade
This is great!! For some reason i thought you were going to paint it then apply stripes and numbers. The real NMF showcases the metal work and the cheat stripes/spinner/canopy add great colors. Perfect combination!! Don airscale
fightersweep
AWWWWWEEEEESSSSSOOOOOOMMMMEEEEEEE!!! (Sorry! I had to shout that) I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO going to Telford this year! I am going to be Peter's number one fan boy....I might even dress up as a cheerleader. Now that will scare off the opposition. Not that there's going to be any competition this year! Radu: Top work on those masks sir! You're too modest and you've clearly made Peter a very happy man. Take a bow! Best regards; Steve airscale
