DonH
Ahhh, this build is wonderful and soothing to my eyeballs. Please bear in mind that I have man flu and am therefore picky and grumpy... ...I am hesitant to say this but the tapes still seem less subtle than the original. Maybe with a layer of paint, it will all blend in or maybe it is just the lighting with the photos. Maybe I am just picky and grumpy, so feel free to totally ignore me. airscale

KUROK
Wow! Your patience is commendable. I would not have redone those control surfaces but now I see how valuable that is to do. They look splendid! airscale
LSP_Ray
Wow, what a great job on the surfaces! I would have been happy with the Tamiya tape, but you did a great upgrade. Your dedication on this model and its detail is amazing! airscale

airscale
evening folks Peter, Wonderful as always, are you going to fit those rudder/elevator locks too? Hi Cees - no, I don't think so, it will just be as nature intended so it was on with finishing the tailfeathers... I made three sets of trim tab actuators, the elevator and rudder are slightly different, but they are all pretty much like this.. ..fitted to the elevator.. and the rudder.. ..soon all were done.. ..lastly to finish assembly, I had to make the rudder control horn, which is quita a chunky aerofoil shape so cut & shaped it from a perspex acrylic offcut.. then they were all painted - I tested about 8 different silvers I have and settled on one numbered 27001 a humbrol one.. also tried masking the registration - I didn't hold out much hope as the solartex is quite coarse and the whole surface very uneven, so I fully expected to need to paint over it.. ..amazingly it worked! testament to Radu's masks and the advice he gave me about misting dry coats perpendicular to the surface.. ..held in place with a blob of white tack, it starts to come together - I am working on the elevator mounts as these will be at a jaunty angle ..also the whole model had a flory dark dirt wash and buff up and it does add a dose of realism close up, most of the rivets have some contrast now.. ..only a short list of things to do and she will be finished Assorted access panels – cockpit & tail Tailwheel doors Radiators & lower panels Slipper tank mounts Fuel Pipe Rollover bar Ailerons Fit Exhausts Wheel valves Brake lines Elevators Prop weathering Whip aerial Windshield & canopy release Canopy track mount Pitot Engine vent pipe TTFN Peter patricksparks, Rainer Hoffmann, Doctorgaz and 10 others

Markjames1968
Remember the prop was wood , not metal, dint be putting bits of silver everywhere,,,!!!! And what weathering you do add, the rear of the blades weathers more than the front.... airscale
