Tamiya 1/32 F4U-1 Corsair "Birdcage"

I started this project mid-2014.  Since I'm horrible at bouncing around from one model to the next, it's been boxed away for a bit until I feel like getting back to it.  I also had to take a time-out on it to build a Gee Bee racer for a friend of mine (also took up to a year to complete...)  I'm not quite sure how in depth I'll go with the detail, but I decided I would try my hand at some aftermarket kits.  I bought the Big Ed kit from Eduard's, and I was really impressed with it.  It's adding a lot of good detail that I can't replicate by hand.  However, I don't want to get attached to it, because it almost feels like cheating!  I'll probably experiment with some scratch-built things after this.  I'm really enjoying getting into some detail work though!  Sorry about some of the blurry photos.  I was holding the model together (dry-fit) and taking pictures at the same time.  Thanks for looking and have fun everyone!

Edit / 24 Feb:  Here's the link to my Photobucket.  There's a few more pictures of the Corsair on it, but I didn't include them here.  I didn't realize how out of focus and blurry they were until I uploaded them to this thread.  Thanks again, everyone!

Thank you, everyone, for the warm welcomes and kind comments!  I'll be sure to post more (and better) pictures as I go along.  I apologize in advance if it takes me a while, but, maybe this forum will motivate me to focus on some projects more often.

Any updates, Larry?

   Hey Kevin,

Unfortunately, no. I've been working on wrapping up other projects that I owe to friends and family, and we're going to move to Houston in May, so that's going to put another hold on it. I will get back to it this year though! Is that even considered an optimistic estimate?! :)
