sax003
I started this project mid-2014. Since I'm horrible at bouncing around from one model to the next, it's been boxed away for a bit until I feel like getting back to it. I also had to take a time-out on it to build a Gee Bee racer for a friend of mine (also took up to a year to complete... ) I'm not quite sure how in depth I'll go with the detail, but I decided I would try my hand at some aftermarket kits. I bought the Big Ed kit from Eduard's, and I was really impressed with it. It's adding a lot of good detail that I can't replicate by hand. However, I don't want to get attached to it, because it almost feels like cheating! I'll probably experiment with some scratch-built things after this. I'm really enjoying getting into some detail work though! Sorry about some of the blurry photos. I was holding the model together (dry-fit) and taking pictures at the same time. Thanks for looking and have fun everyone! Edit / 24 Feb: Here's the link to my Photobucket. There's a few more pictures of the Corsair on it, but I didn't include them here. I didn't realize how out of focus and blurry they were until I uploaded them to this thread. Thanks again, everyone! http://s1104.photobucket.com/user/larry_grimes1/library/Tamiya%20F4U-1%20Birdcage?sort=3&page=1 Edited February 25, 2016 by sax003

sax003
Thank you, everyone, for the warm welcomes and kind comments! I'll be sure to post more (and better) pictures as I go along. I apologize in advance if it takes me a while, but, maybe this forum will motivate me to focus on some projects more often. sax003
Any updates, Larry? Kev Hey Kevin, Unfortunately, no. I've been working on wrapping up other projects that I owe to friends and family, and we're going to move to Houston in May, so that's going to put another hold on it. I will get back to it this year though! Is that even considered an optimistic estimate?! - Larry Edited February 27, 2017 by sax003
