HA1112
Hi I'm seeking some tips on making molds for casting fuselage halves for my Hasegawa BF109. I will later convert it into a Buchon. Any good articles or tips on fuselage casting? Best regards Espen
thierry laurent
Hi, you do whatever you want but if I were you I would rather try to find a cheap Revell release of the G4 kit (same fuselage parts) as the cost of the silicone mold and resin will be higher than the cost of another kit! Radub
Werner's Wings did the Avia S-199. It was Grey Matter Figures who did the Bouchon, and they did a great job of it! Radu Vandy 1 VX 4
stevegallacci
If you are doing pattern work, it is better to work directly off the kit part, as the copies will not be exactly the same, and then the copy of the copy will be that much more off. For how to do RTV and resin work, Smooth-On has had some on-line tutorials for such. If you are doing this as a one-of, then, as mentioned, the cost in materials will be as much or more than the cost of another kit. Vitali
As Steve said above, much better to use a donor kit. You'll not have to worry about shrinkage and such as you will with a resin copy. Harold
