Iain
A build I started a long time ago, in a galaxy far away - but discovered in the loft the other day... Minded to dip into it occasionally in between other projects... Fuselage: Cockpit tub basis: Wing: Tail fin: Tailplane: Canopy: Love the look of the Tiger... Dandiego
Yeah a Tiger. Looking forward to your build. This is so unique, so different than what we usually see here. Go Iain,go. And a vac too. So much more interesting to see one of these come together than an IM kit. More problem solving on a vac. Dan Harold
Lee White
It's fun to watch people's brains lock up when you try and explain the reverse, upside-down tail hook the Tiger used. They think, "That can't be right", even though it is. I have the same kit in my stash, it is one we need in IM. Hopefully someday..... Starfighter
Yay! That's one I wanted to see since a long time - cool project! I need one of these as well... just bought the Detail & Scale on Sunday! Looking forward to seeing your progress, Iain! Harold

Iain
Bear in mind this will be a sloooooow burn - but was surprised when I found it in a Hasegawa box - had completely forgotten about it and had done more to it than I realised. And - er - feeling quite enthused (for now - LOOK - another squirrel!) Iain Anthony in NZ, Harold and Kagemusha

Jack
Yeah go Iain, go........i don't have the vac kit, was always looking for it, and got excited when Kitty hawk models were considering a release, but alas no joy..... So i'm anxious to see what your build will turn into, but i'm sure it'll be remarkable. Maybe a BlueAngels jet????? have fun, Jack. Hubert Boillot
Cool project Iain The Tiger was a very nice aeroplane, but somehow lacked the warlike appearence of other contemporary jets. Maybe this is the reason why it did not get the same recognition as others of its time ... Hubert. Harold
Iain
Always thought the Tiger was a bit of a good looker - especially with those teeth. I guess it's service life was relatively short - but it's an important machine in the development of Naval Aviation I think. No further work - just lots of background reading... Dandiego
If I remember correctly the Tiger was the only aircraft to shoot itself down. Fired it's cannons while climbing then it went into a dive and subsequently flew into its previously fired cannon shells on their way down. I have heard this many times, the first time about 50 years ago when I lived on the China Lake navel base. Urban legend or the real deal? I'm not really sure.
