"What markings?"  :hmmm: I'm thinking it's going to look lovely in BOAC G-AGGC markings.

Dave,

You win a cookie! I'm hoping to do it justice.

Looks lovely Tom. Nice change of colours from the usual suspects.

Carl

Carl,

Thanks! Your build has certainly been an inspiration to me, and I've loved working on this kit.

Cheers, Tom

No problem. Happy to help where I can.

Here's a link to the Hannants page with the Vingtor decals in 48 scale for G-AGFV, may be of use to you. I wish they do the Mk.VI decals in 32 scale so as I can do G-AGGC myself.

What were civilian registered Mossies in wartime used for?

One event that stood out for me is when England bought all of Sweden's ball bearing reserves after the German ball bearing factory's were bombed in order to prevent Germany from purchasing them first. They were transported in these Mossies.

Beautiful Tom, lookin' forward to seein' her with decals on!

Cheers,

Wolf

Wolf, thank you, and thanks for checking in! The work on your Mossie is incredible. I'm looking forward to those markings as well.

Tom,

FANTASTIC Mosquito build.

I applaud your lovely work..... :clap2: :clap2:

:wow:

Maru, thanks very much! I always appreciate your kindness.

Cheers, Tom

Mostly ball bearings from Sweden but they also carried a passenger some times. The passenger was put into the stripped out bomb bay, laying on cushions and given air and comms through a standard RAF flight mask.

Not the most comfortable of rides. Most, if not all flights were made from RAF Leuchars on the east coast of Scotland. Anybody interested in golf and has watched the British open from St. Andrews, Leuchars is the airbase that can be seen across the Eden estuary.
