New 1/32 F-4K/M (FG.1/FGR.2) Phantom kit announced by HKM

I'd really like a KH Jaguar GR1 to place with the HKM FGR2 .

That the Jag would be XX963 and the FGR2 XV422 would be a nice little in-joke on the RAF's last jet kill.

(Jaguar GR1 XX963 AL of 14 Sqn was shot down by Phantom FGR2 XV422 of 92 Sqn over Germany in May 1982 when a live AIM-9G was accidentally fired.)

You can still get the decals. I bought a set only a few weeks ago. Not bad at all, although it means I will now HAVE to buy 12 HK FGR2s.....

Ho hum.

Only 12????

I bought a set a few years ago from Dave.

Very nice quality, but I was mildly disappointed at the lack of any but the most basic stencils for the price, as it was to dress up one of the then looming conversion sets.

But hopefully they'll still provide some additional choices for the HKM releases.

They'd make a good group buy, if the participants could agree on the share out.

Glad to hear it, Jennings. BTW, your BOAC PR Mossie  and Spit decals are gorgeous.

I've never had an issue with Dave Klaus, other than the spam email thing. But at least he's not trying to sell me Viagra...

And his decals are top notch as well....

I like the Brit Toom and will buy it , but I really want the F-4N. I dumped all my AM and Tamiya kits in preparation for this.

Well, I have/had no axe to grind with Mr Klaus! Or anyone else that I can recall, in the modelling world at any rate!

Oh, there was one. Stinky Pete my kids called him. Nearly cost me my job by counterfeiting a training course application with my employers name address and logo, and naming me as a referee.....

We're all a bit fickle from time to time - getting out of the wrong side of the bed that morning, etc., as the old sayings go.

As long as FAA 892 NAS Silver Jubilee markings are included in the HK Models offering and/or AM, I'll be a happy chap.

At this juncture I am convinced that the Tamiya F-4J still is very much worth building - as an F-4J

I had contact on several occasions ca.late 'nineties.

Gentleman? Well, that's not my judgement call. He was to-the-point but I had no business dealings with him.

Got the impression of somebody working too many hours on a shrinking budget who had a greedy wife, without mentioning any names of course. Possibly in a previously unevisaged bind.

I hear on Facebook that the project has been shelved for now ! True or false?

It's false. Neil showed me some in-progress CAD last weekend, and it's definitely still being developed. We won't see it this year, as the Lancaster has priority for the moment, but it's not shelved.

This will be a 'must buy' for me, along with all the aftermarket I can get my hands on. Looking forward to this.

Cheers,

Tom
