fightnjoe Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 (edited) This is the second project on my bench at the moment. Borrowed from the Hasegawa site This is intended to be a cut away project and it is intended for attempted submission to a magazine. More on this build to follow. I hope you enjoy the ride. fightnjoe Posted August 2, 2015 Author Posted August 2, 2015 First cuts. Over the last day or so it has been Dremmel and Exacto time. The most frightening moment of a build like this is that first cut. After that there is no turning back. And the cuts. I am going where the feeling takes me at this point. I think the wing will be first up. Going to tackle it a bit different. Till next time..... All comments, critiques, and criticism are encouraged. Joe Whitey and ClumsyDude 2
ClumsyDude Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Can't wait to see this one unfold, Joe - if it's anywhere near the standard of your 109 and B-17 it'll be a stunner. Jim
Guest Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Joe, I love the idea. Will folow along with you.....Harv

fightnjoe Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 Wing work has started. Over the last couple of weeks I have spent some time getting the wing and its components ready to go. I have also worked on the fuel cell for the wing. Started the stringers and the gun bay/ammo bin. All comments, critiques, and criticism are encouraged. Joe ClumsyDude and Whitey 2
ClumsyDude Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Looks terrific Joe. Can't wait to see it under paint. More to the point - I have no idea how you manage to get so much done in multiple builds at the same time, and all to such a high standard. I know I couldn't go close! Cheers Jim
fightnjoe Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 Jim normally I would not try to build multiple kits at once. To be honest I may not for the future. I started the Mustang to keep me going on the SBD. I was afraid I would get bored on the out of box build. Boredom leads to loss of motivation. I did not want that. Joe
Out2gtcha Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Cool project............................did one of these years ago for a commission job. Not bad at all, just needs the obvious re-scribe, and some pit details. Yours is going to need slightly more internal details though! Shape seemed pretty on to me, save the part that is off with a lot of Stang kits; the upper cowl/nose section, but overall, the kit is still decent. Cant wait to see more!
