Guest Smitty44 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) I know there was a thread somewhere discussing their next release, but I dont see it, and just too lazy too look. In the email Richard stated....brace yourselves and sorry if this is old news........ -Work continues on our new model of the iconic Sopwith Camel and we believe that the end result will be well worth the wait. We do not have a release schedule for the Sopwith Camel at this time. oh its on the next page....sorry!! Edited June 3, 2015 by Smitty44 Bill Cross, geedubelyer and scvrobeson 3
LSP_Kevin Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Yep, just read it too. So, thus endeth the rumours! Kev
LSP_K2 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Yep, just popped into my in-box as well. I really had no idea they were actually working on one, but it does explain a statement made to me recently.
Out2gtcha Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Me too! The wait is INDEED over gentlemen. I'd venture go say now with certainty that a WnW Dr.1 won't be too far behind.
Guest Clunkmeister Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Camel and DR.1. The next Duellist boxing? Brown vs. Richthofen?
phasephantomphixer Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Gotta get my current line of 1/32 Academy/HC Camels set for Ebay ASAP.
LSP_Kevin Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 It's probably worth noting that Wingnut Wings does not say the Camel is their next kit, only that they are indeed working on one. We may well see something else come out before it. Kev Whitey 1
phasephantomphixer Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Huh, was looking up the latest value of the Hobbycraft Camel sales on US Ebay and found this; http://www.ebay.com/...=item2c9b3dcd00 Choice of four markings. Would it again be the Academy (old original Hobbycraft) tooling or the last (Clerget/LeRhone) tooling?
Guest Clunkmeister Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Keep the new ones and build them. I did one and it's a great kit.
Guest Clunkmeister Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 ALL Camels except for the "engine aces" kits ie: Clerget and LeRhone are the old plastic, including Acadamy and Italari. No clue why, but it's pretty stupid. There is really nice tooling out there for a Camel and it's just sitting somewhere unused.
geedubelyer Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 This is exciting news, thanks for the heads-up smitty. I suspect that this might just be my first foray into the world of WNW. I dabbled with the idea of an SE5a for a while but did n't quite like the type enough to pull the trigger. The Camel is a different story however. Having built the old Hobbycraft version a while ago it could be nice to build another that does n't take a huge amount of work to make it right. I've read many WNW build threads and watched enviously as everything just fits together (too well in some cases, better watch that paint in the fit lines) like a dream. Now, when WNW release a Camel I might have enough desire to join the ranks of the converted. Cheers.
Vitali Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 (edited) Once they release the kit you'd better grab one or more while you can as they will sell out really quickly ! Hope it comes with snoopy! Edited June 3, 2015 by Vitali Kagemusha 1
