Silver Wings Fokker D.21

Cheers guys!

I'm almost ready for paint. Add the landing lights today and re-did some of the rivets that got lost with sanding.

As said before I managed to destroy the prop shaft. Sent Simon of Silver Wings a mail, and behold! Here's an all now prop shaft, well packaged in a plastic container.

Very happy boy...

Need to polish the landing light covers:

Added detail to the open door:

And the new prop shaft:

Oh! And i drilled out the tail wheel and fitted a brass rod in it for strength.

Cheers Roy!

I'll be doing the 214, "white mice" scheme:

Managed to shoot some lead as well as paint!

The aluminium parts received some base alclad and hairspray. The cowling already has some chocolate brown and chipping done.

Sweet. Love the Dutch schemes and camouflage. This build just gets better and better. I really hope a G-1 might be considered some day by Silver Wings. They would fantastic side by side. The orange rudder is pretty nice too. Keep them coming.

Indeed a Browning HP 9mm. Shoots like a dream.

Not going about this in the traditional way. That would be: mask everything, spray in one go.

Since I'm using the hairspray technique, I'm doing this piece by piece. The reason for this is that the paint hardens out quick, which makes the chipping technique harder if you have too much time in between.

Looking good, Jeroen! I have to try the hairspray technique. It gives the most realistic chipping I have seen, because it is chipped!

I am going to have to get one of those Browning Hi-Powers, I love 9mm's. I have a 25-year old Walther P88 Kompact, but it has never been fired, and was actually the photo model for the USA importer's catalog back then - the serial numbers match. Almost too collectible to put a bunch of rounds through.

Looking forward to seeing the Fokker in full Dutch camo!

Gorgeous!

Found the ID Vac I started about 20 years ago earlier today - I think it's going straight in the bin...

Iain

Thnx!

I've seen only one ID Vac built of this plane. Pretty well done too.

Life is too short for Vac form kits me thinks.... :)
