mlcflhs
Hi, as I've been reading in this Forum for a long time I decided to sign up and present my version of the Mosquito 1/24 from Airfix. This is a work in progress and I have just finished the main part of the fuselage. I'm building this kit in stages or units and will be updating after every stage. The fuselage actually consisted of 7 stages until now, but as I have completed these already I will just start with the images of the first Unit. You can always feel free to ask any questions and I will gladly answer them as soon as possible. Unit 1. Starting with the Cockpit Interior. LSP_Kevin
Welcome aboard Mike! Unfortunately, you have your images hosted on server (or a folder on the server) that is protected by htaccess file, and it forces the browser to prompt for a username and password before it can retrieve the images. You'll need to get that sorted before we can see your images. In the meantime, I've removed the image links so that people viewing your thread don't get bombarded with login requests. mlcflhs
Hi @Kev: sorry about the server mishap. I noticed just after I posted and then failed in correcting. Anyway second try and hoping it works. @Antony: Nice to be here! I usually break my build down into smaller units and finish each unit before posting. Being a Brit and living in Germany since 71 I already posted the main section of the fuselarge at Wettringer a German site. Currently I'm translating so more will come soon. Here are the first images of Unit 1 : The Cockpit ( Excuse the German comments ) More closeups to follow soon. All questions welcome! mlcflhs
Hi Matt, glad you like it. I've just translated the next images and thought I would post now rather than later. Moved Images to other sections The next Unit will be the rear section inside the fuselarge above the wings. This is where the battery, oxygen tanks, drinking water tank and hydraulic oil tank are situated. Its a complete scrath build and I'll post as soon as possible. mlcflhs
Hi Antony, I used the harnesses from EDUARD "Seatbelts RAF WWII late" and did some little, but only some little modifications. Heres the next Unit. Unit 2. rear section inside the fuselarge above the wings Hope you enjoyed the photos. The next unit is naturally #3 and is the starboard cockpit wall. All questions welcome and have a nice day. Cheers, Mike Edited September 26, 2022 by mlcflhs Relinking images Mal_Belford

mlcflhs
Hello again. @Lob mag jeder. after Sunday lunch and a little more translating. Here is Unit 3. Starboard Cockpit wall. After making these photos using my macro I thought I needed to do some paint patching. After putting the fuselage together I discovered that there was not much need as the rework was not visible anyway. That's all for Today Folks. I'll continue with the update tomorrow. As for now I plan to plan the wing structure. The main difficulty will be the Radiators as I plan to make these fully detailed with all maintenance doors and piping. Enjoy the day. mlcflhs
Hi Mal, I built in the LED's more for the effect than for realism. As far as I know the instruments in the Mosquitos where not illuminated. Also the lights in the fuselage where actually in different positions. I put them center for convenience. I also noticed that I made a mistake in closing the fuselage. (Photos still to come ) I still need to place the lights in the tail plane and will need to lay the wires somehow. Challenging! My current count is another 8 LED's with a flasher unit and battery built into one of the wing tanks. Hi Loic, The start actually started 5 months ago with a few breaks. I'm currently updating this post before I start working on wings and radiators. Anthony in NZ
Mike, would love to see your radiator work when you get to it as I am considering opening up the starboard panel myself, to add some interest to that big flat wing.
