Hasegawa Fw 190D-9

Here's the first for 2015, Hasegawa's Fw 190D-9 in 1:32. The concept is an aircraft which has been abandoned in the retreat in Germany in 1945.

The airframe is riveted (thank you Radu Brinzan) and the Verlinden set added (don't, it's crap, get the Aires set instead). The tail was detailed and the swastika nicked by some 1:35 GIs as a souvineer!. They've also had some target practice on the fuselage cross. Paints were the excellent Mr paint (over an Ammo primer) obtained from Alex at Uschi van der Rosten, think Alclad but camouflage. They are superb, a real game changer. All the markings were sprayed using a Montex set.

The Luftwaffe set a charge in the cockpit denying the use of the aeroplane to the allies, hence the distressed paint on the fuselage. It also wrote off the canopy and windscreen!

This model will feature in the next issue of The Weathering Magazine which is out soon. If you don't see it its because I just missed the deadline!
