FELIXTOWE F2a Late Done!!

Recommended Posts

I plan to display the big Felix in a diorama setting showing the aircraft preparing for a patrol in the last days of the war.

I constructed the base from medium density fibreboard and pine, stained it walnut and then modified the Italeri long dock to make the sea wall.

Eventually the aircraft will be sitting on a wooden ramp but for now a rag will do!20150419_145906_zpsk8sqs201.jpg

To start the water effects I glued down the roughest grade of watercolour paper available, the close up shows the dimples that this paper has which will be the starting point for creating the water20150420_114252_zpsion0fcfg.jpg

Simply blown away with the build. Incredible work and way beyond my abilities.

Great work Simmo. I'll be watching how you create the water effects with great interest. This will certainly be an impressive display. What are the dimensions of the base if I may ask?

Cheers

Mike

Cheers all,

Mike, the working area of the base is 1 meter x 1/2 meter, it expands beyond that a little with the wood mouldings but the above dimensions is the actual diorama area.

Thanks for looking in

Cheers

Brent
