BiggTim
I'd like some opinions on what AM gun barrels to use for my Hasegawa F6F-3 Hellcat. I'm not opposed to making them if anyone has a good idea of how best to do that. Also need some decals if anyone has any they'd part with - was thinking of Alex Vraciu's plane, but I'd consider anything with that tri-color paint scheme. Thanks, Tim
logan181
Two diameters of brass tubing would work well, or you could use some brass barrels from Master. As for the decals Techmod has a sheet that might fit the bill. John BiggTim
LSP_K2
I'd go Master for the barrels. Just fabulous products. BiggTim
Guest
You are not doing an "N" version I take it. Masters is the best, but there are 2 other major makers also...........Harv
Juggernut
The hellcat's fifty barrels were inclosed in tubes, probably stainless steel so the suggestion above to use brass tubing is a good one. The restorations I've seen online here and there don't seem to show these blast tubes but they were there as evidenced in the photo above. I'm sure I have a reference that shows the blast tubes but I haven't gone to the modeling room to look any up so I hope the above photo will suffice. LSP_Ron
Very similar to a P-47. Brass tubing seems to be a good suggestion with the end rounded a little. I don't think Master makes an actual "Hellcat" barrel do they? Great stuff Masters is though. Top notch!
DaneBramage
Like you said- Get the Jug Set and have a couple of spares.

Not that I'm aware of, just the standard Browning M2 barrels, which if used in a Hellcat maintenance scene, would be great, otherwise there's no real point I'd think, as barrels will otherwise not be seen. dutik
Wasn't aware of this. Will take care of this detail with my Indochine Hellcat build. Regards - dutik
