All I can say is "Amazing"......Rich is on a whole other level! Every time I tune into this WIP I'm left speechless by the ingenuity and creativity on display here.

I can't wait to see what's next but whatever it is will be worth the wait.

Very interesting build - I have always liked this version of the Intruder

CJP, thanks for commenting.

Unusual and specialized variants of aircraft have always appealed to me too, especially as modeling subjects. When Revell released its 1:48 A-6E kit in 1988, I went to work right away converting it to an EA-6A until, a year or so later, they announced a retooled Electric Intruder kit would be added to their catalog. The project was shelved, along with all other modeling related pursuits as family and career ambitions took priority. When I finally returned to model aviation in 2014, Trumpeter had just released their big Intruder. So, in a sense, I picked up where I left off all those years ago!

Scribing perfection!

I've use the (somewhat) same technique on a 1/72 RF-101C (still need to finish that...) as some parts were inaccesible with normal tempates. Sometimes I also use a tape rectangle-ish shape (depends on what it should be), but you can't get rounded corners easily that way.

I'm still working on my A-6, the cockpit is ready for final varnish (just finished making the throttle yesterday), and now working on the metal gear legs. A real PITA to clean up and fill the pin-marks for sure, but slowly getting there. Hopefully an update on my part soon :)

Jeroen

Thanks again Jeroen...eager to see how you tackled the metal LG parts.

Elmo, as always, your support and enthusiasm are very much appreciated.

As many model enthusiasts here are aware, Wardog is the creative genius behind what has to be the most impressive overhaul of the ancient Revell/Monogram A-6E kit that we’ve ever laid eyes upon.

Yes, it’s in that “other” scale, but, that just makes his detail achievements all the more impressive.

Kick kick kick…i think it stalled again?

chrish,

Thanks for gentle persuasion.

After another long hiatus, the plan is to resume work on the Electric Intruder soon. After all, we’re not getting any younger!

Hopefully, I’ll have something new to share by the end of this month.

Hi friends,

Sadly, the big Intruder still hangs over me like an unanswered question.

A friend of mine has the patterns for the nose and tail parts and has been making progress of late with mold set up and casting. I’ll be sure to let you know when there’s product available for sale.

Meanwhile, I started another project, in another scale, on another website…a triple offense! If you’re interested, you can check it out here .

All the best,

Rich
