Hey there.

it`s been a while but I finally managed to make some progress.

Painted the barracuda spinner and brassin legs:

The area behind the cockpit was a pain to fill and sand smooth. Furthermore I had to fill and rescribe the forward upper cowling several times. Did not manage to get a smooth line there and left it as is... :crying:

Preparing for paint. Alclad grey primer, preshading, painting and masking the green Reichsverteidigungsband:

RLM 82 and 83 from Mr. Paint followed by clear from the same company. Those paints worked really great and I can recommend them!

The bottom side was painted with Mr Color RLM 76 and Alclad.

Finally the decals. The Barracuda decals worked like a dream. I used Microset/sol and the carrier film is almost invisible. I think I may have to build some more Revell G-10s only for the decals!

Next up: Weathering!

Thank you for looking.

Wonderful progress on the 109, as the added details look perfect. Casmmo and decal work is right on the money.

Keep 'em coming

Thanks for the positive comments.

@ Kev: The Mr.Paint gloss clear sprays perfect and has a nice shine. But it took like 1/2 bottle for this one coating.

I'm not surprised. Their paints are very thin, and a bottle doesn't necessarily go a long way. Good to hear that it sprays as well as their colours though.

I like the colors. Very pretty. However i think the area between the wing radiators should be green, as it is not part of the wing.

Yeah, I thought about that, too. However I was not sure and sticked with the instructions that came with the decals. I leave it as it is.

Heres some more progress.

Started with airbrushing highly diluted gunze smoke over some panel lines, followed by a wash of very dark (top) and light grey (bottom).

After that I played around with some oil colors:

I put small drops of light green oil color on the RLM 82 green areas, and some darker green on the RLM 83. Then blended it with a broad brush. It is meant to break up the uniform greens:

Afterwards I put small drops of white oil color on both upper sides of the fuselage and streaked them down:

A colored pencil was used to add some scratches and dirt to the wingroot and some other places:

Then i added exhaust stains with diluted Gunze Aqueous "Soot":

On the bottom I added some dirt and oil staining with oil colors and the airbrush:

So she is quite dirty now, I rather stop weathering. Next up: all those small parts that need so much time to finish...

Thank you for looking.
