blackbetty
the resin intakes also need some filler to join the fuselage correctly
blackbetty
some more tabs added to help align the rear part i have opened up the bulkhead that holds the engines in at the end of the fuslegae . i wont be using the middle engine parts because you cant see them and that way i can slide the engines in after painting more to come, stay tuned karl TaffyMan

blackbetty
at last i had a chance to do some more work i was thinking about joining the fuselage together, front and rear/lower part and took a good look at the joint. as said in other builds, take your time here, or you can use lots of putty and sanding later, along with rescribing. i assembled the inner wing parts to get an idea of fit there, its pretty bad. part of it was my fault. while installing the resin intakes a didnt pay attention to the side walls alongside the intakes, the right one was bent inward, so i had to shim it out to get it straght again Edited February 26, 2015 by blackbetty
blackbetty
the wings sit about half a milimeter too low, so you have steps on the bottom and on top
blackbetty
so i filed a slot (red arrows) to get it to sit higher
blackbetty
on the fuselage roof you have to file down the red marked area or you will get unwanted dyhedral

blackbetty
this operation does not mean you dont have to glue in shims at the wingroot (as seen in other builds) to get decent fit here hope this saves any gap-filling at the top
blackbetty
closed up the fuselage. first the forward part, to avoid gaps at the intakes leaving the rear unglued DesTROYer
blackbetty
after drying time of a couple of days i glued the rear part, resulting only in minor gaps. the rearmost part will be hidden by the stab exhaust parts are stuck in to keep the rear of the fuselageopenings round Edited March 11, 2015 by blackbetty DesTROYer

blackbetty
the tails have lots of crude and wrong detail that will stick out like a sore thumb the slimelights have armorplates under them (even on the insides of the tails!) these have to be sanded off (on the right)
blackbetty
more armour under the position light bases, the lower fairing has a completely wrong shape (modified on the left) the more you consult Jakes book the more wrong detail you see. i´m afraid to look further Edited March 17, 2015 by blackbetty
