LSP_K2
The guns begin to take shape. not a lot of details to add here, as they're basically OK, just a little filler and some small bits.
LSP_K2
I've tried my hand on a weld technique that I have very little experience with. Not too shabby, I think. This first area I worked on, will be mostly out of sight on the finished weapon, and is the reason I chose it.
LSP_K2
All three seats now being reworked; drain holes in seat pan filled, and monstrous horn at front of seat reworked.
LSP_K2
Gunners seat arm now has .040 rod added for welds, as well as side plate welds.
LSP_K2
Gunners leg protectors now created. Not technically correct, as this was a piece with rolled (or stamped) stiffening ribs, so mine will not have the proper concave surfaces on exterior, as I have used .040 half round to simulate these ribs on the interior side. LSP_K2
A small thing perhaps, but caps now added to traverse and elevation hand-wheel handles. At least one step closer to adding speed ratio adjustment levers (which kit does not provide).
LSP_K2
More details being added to side armor.
dodgem37
Good show, Kevin. Nice additional detailing. I like this project alot. Makes me nostalgic for armor. Sincerely, Mark LSP_K2
LSP_K2
Thanks, Mark. I took a bit of a break from it this morning, but now I'm feeling like heading up to do some more. I really want to get this one behind me, so I can resume work on my '70 T/A Challenger.
LSP_K2
Here I've taken the liberty of drawing up some views of the 100 round box. I've drawn two different end configurations, as I'm not sure which way I'll go, perhaps a couple of each. BiggTim and LSP_Paul
LSP_K2
My stab at the shipping box. More to do, but I like the way it's shaping up.
dodgem37
Sharp work, Kevin. I like the indentations. Is this box metal or wood? Thank you. Sincerely, Mark LSP_K2
LSP_K2
Thanks, Mark. The shipping box was made of wood, the cutouts are for the latches that will fit mostly flush with the exterior.
LSP_Paul
The box looks great so far K2. Have you thought about posing a figure next to it when its completed? Some of those nice Dragon ones are amazing in their detail, a far cry from ol' GI Joe we had as kids. Paul LSP_K2
LSP_K2
The problem, Paul, is that I'm lousy at painting figures, and the larger the figure, the more pronounced mistakes can appear. I fear it would detract from, rather than add to, the overall impact.
