Revell Bf109G-10

Back from vacation and right into fighting with the fit of the wings. Had pretty fair gaps at both wing roots and with the Barracuda wing inserts the wings were thicker than where they met the fuselage. If I use the Barracuda parts again I will check the thickness before glueing when it would be much easier to deal with. As it was, it required much shimming, filling, etc., to get a decent fit. A lot of work, but in the end I am fairly happy. Primered with Alclad primer and Mr. Surfacer 1200. Decided to do Yellow 2 of KG27 from BarracudaCals G-10 part 2. Wanted one with narrow wheels, painted undersides and no drop tank. This one has a green and white checkered fuselage band so I have sprayed the white over the preshading.

Thanks guys. Mal, I am doing Yellow 2 of KG27 and that requires a green and white fuselage band. Had a little time this evening to mask and spray it. Mr. Color #6 Gloss Green was used as that's what I had on hand and it looked pretty close to the BarracudaCals artwork. Of course it will be toned down a bit with weathering. Just have to mask off the band and I can start spraying the 76.

That's looking great! I'm following with interest.

A heads up regarding the stencils, after the instructions and profiles were printed I had another close look at the photos of this aircraft and realized that the fuel triangle was the odd variation with white centre and yellow outline. That is included on the stencil sheet IIRC, but it's not depicted on my profile of yellow 2.

Thanks a lot, guys. Anders, I read your post just after I had applied the standard fuel triangle and was able to remove it quickly. Thanks for heads up on that. Finished the decals today. The BarracudaCals went on great over Mr. Color clear gloss in the larger areas and Future for most of the stencils. Finished off with a coat of Acryl flat clear.

That turned out great! I saw that you were making fast progress but I didn't want to post my comment regarding the stencil until I had one final look at the photo. Good that you caught it in time anyway. What colours are you using? They're all looking fine but the RLM 75 is really something! If it's acrylic I'm going to get it! :)
