Lancaster...."Just Jane" Do I really need to say anymore?

Recommended Posts

Oh how I wish I was there in the flesh, but alas I, and some of you have to live through the eyes, ears, noses, and standing on end hairs of the fortunate ones....

Posting these on the behalf of one of our own, who was there to smell the exhaust and feel the roar.....more to come over the next few days.....

Phartycr0c,

I do believe you are one go lucky guys, as the tickets are all sold out.. For all venues where they appear at...

I haven't Re-checked to see it that had or has changed ..

I will be at East Kirby tomorrow to catch up with events there, and then onto RAF Coningsby to track down the CWHM Lanc which hopefully will be on display somewhere!

I couldn't get a ticket for the 7th September but it will be a very historic day for those that are there.

Roll on the day when 'Just Jane' will be airborne once more!

Hope it stays sunny ..

Bye for now.

Edit: just remembered Roy , on Saturday when I went by Conningsby before attending the show I couldn't see anything but that's because it wasn't there probably so I hope you get to see the CWHM... :)

A colleague of mine had a taxi ride in JJ, for his belated 50th birthday, in April this year. lay down in the bomb aimers window for the whole ride. He had to wait 14 months for the privilege such is the popularity.

Well he can say he did it.. And now knows how the guys who did that for lot longer must have felt and coped with..

Thanks for sharing that..

I think Each one of Us will have some fondness of one kind or another for the Lancaster...MY own Uncle C worked on them during WWII as well on Hurricanes etc..he was a LAC in the RAF..HE told some stories and then some...

I have pictures of him in Africa but I haven't gotten One of him with LANCASTERS.

Enjoy your own TAXY ride too.

MARU 5137.

Sent from Samsung mobile on O2.
