DrDave
can I please be the first on the web to post "aw man, Airfix really screwed the pooch" even though I don't really mean it? TonyT, Iain and Artful69
Artful69
can I please be the first on the web to post "aw man, Airfix really screwed the pooch" even though I don't really mean it? Sorry Doc ... Insincere kit bashing doesn't count!! The judges are only influenced by large rants, holding a perfectly sincere (though nonsensical) line ... followed by a detailed demonstration using a combination of Photographs, drawings and other associated documents ... You wouldn't even make national selection with that poor effort ... leave it to the professionals Rog TonyT and Iain
SJL
Given Airfix's legendary part replacement service I'm quite sure the canopy issue will be sorted sharpish. The Mosquito had a problem with cracked canopies that was fixed swiftly.
TonyT
Damn I never checked my Mossie canopy. Just opened the box and saw the tyres.

Bruce_Crosby
Hi Folks, Got my Typhoon yesterday from Swindon Model Centre, courtesy of Rose and Jan. The canopy is both cracked and distorted, so Airfix have had a little email from me. The rest of the kit is very good, clean moulding and a nice surface finish. I thought the box was a bit on the big side until I opened it, there is a lot for your money. Throw a couple of resin bits at it, maybe a few etched items and it's going to look stunning. The biggest drawback is the amount of paint you will need to cover the model, lots and lots and lots. The average paint pot may do a wing if you're lucky! DrDave
I hope Montex will be doing masks as weathered roundels look much better in 1/24. I fancy a scheme with a bubble top, sky blunt 3 blade prop, bombs and the original yellow wing stripes and b/w underwing stripes. I have found one 3 blade bomber and others without stripes. Anyone found one with all the above?
dennismcc
email airfix,by now , loads of people will be doing likewise... Do you have an e mail address for the right person to contact ? I have just been through the box looking for a slip with contact details but there does not appear to be one. Cheers Dennis
nmayhew
hi, see below for contact details my kit arrived from Amazon today (yes, Sunday!) the canopy was indeed cracked first impressions very very good the rivet detail is excellent - I still don't think it is as fine as on Tamiya 1/32 though Airfix should look to Tamiya re the boxes within a box to keep certain parts particularly secure - having everything rattle around (albeit in sealed sprue bags) is not great i got this for £74.28 (free shipping) btw the only thing i am kicking myself for is why i didn't buy more at that price hey ho http://www.airfix.com/contact Phone: 01843 233525 Email: customercare@hornby.com Address:Customer CareHornby Hobbies LtdWestwoodMargateKentCT9 4JXUK
