akeller
Hello again! Have there been any rumors about Tamiya releasing an F-51D to round out the offering? Thanks very much! Al Keller
Kagemusha
No. Though AIMS and Monokio make F-51D decals... Edited July 14, 2014 by Kagemusha
BradG
If you can't wait, just buy the P-51D kit and get some AM decals and HVAR hard points and you have yourself an F-51D.
thierry laurent
They WILL do it. The question is when! If you're not convinced look at the photoetched parts in the first release. They have HVAR and Tiny Tim rockets ends...
akeller
I'll have to check this evening but I'm fairly sure that the wings have the HVAR mounting points located but flashed over. MUST have another kit to add to my stash!! Thanks, Al Keller

happy1
Take a look at the P-51D/K South Pacific version. Paul
pzcreations
I was going to suggest the K kit as well, there are even parts in there for a post war P-51..not sure if its means the F-51 or not.
LSP_Ron
The Grey Matter un-cuffed prop is a Aeroproducts prop not a Hamilton Standard (HS), the blades are a different shape. I believe the second release of the Tamiya kit in AP markings has both HS Props?
akeller
Thanks for all the feedback. I was able to pick up the mounts for the HVAR and I could use the prop from the old Monogram 1/32nd Mustang - I believe that would work. Still trying to confirm what the cockpit interior would look like and what "updates" would need to be done to make a post war/Korean War vintage plane. If you've got any suggestions, I'd sure appreciate it! Of course, 15 minutes before I finish this "conversion", Tamiya will release the kit with the very markings I've got in mind and that I will have to piece together. What a fantastic hobby!!!
