Guest Vulcan32 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Hi, I´m giving away my 1/48 C-47 collection. But why? Do I know something? Cheers, Heinz
LSP_K2 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Not a big fan of cargo aircraft, (though I do like the Ju 52). How much of a collection do you have?
Guest Vulcan32 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Five, but they are all gone. The more interesting part of my post is: Do I know something?

Derek B Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 It will come in 1/32 scale. OK, best spill the beans before peoples patience runs out? Cheers Derek
Guest Peterpools Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Holy Cow Batman, a Gooney Bird in 32nd scale. Talk about endless choices and markings. This kit could be a GB all on it's own! Peter
LSP_K2 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 It will come in 1/32 scale. Lemme see, built by Douglas?
LSP_K2 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I have the old Monogram 1:48 DC-3 (intended to do it in Ozark markings), but a C-47 in Russian markings would also be pretty cool, now that I think about it.
Tnarg Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 So an airliner collection in a big scale is not impossible... at least for the 30's. Add the hoped for Dragon Rapide and hope for a few more friends. I just want that little old profile book of early airliners in 1/32 scale, nothing too serious. Imagine an SM.55 or a full set of Lockheed model 10 to 18 twin engine aircraft and maybe an Orion or a Vega? Won't even go to the HP.42, but how cool would that be? Where would we display it is the real problem. As for the earlier ones, WNWing's WWI kits and some modifications may actually make a lot of the 20's airliners. As for the C-47... YES! (sorry for the shouting) Tnarg
LSP_K2 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I must confess that I don't have a lot of reference on the DC-3/C-47, but I just stumbled upon an interesting scheme that I'd never seen before, and it looks pretty cool. I also recall seeing one of these in Israeli markings a few years ago here in St Louis, that I believe was purchased by TWA to restore as an Ozark airlines machine. I have no idea if they ever finished it or not. I have photos that I took of it here somewhere.
ScottsGT Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 That's going to be big. Really big......I might have to keep this one in the 1/48 category, as I am with my bombers.
