is it windy yet?
Here is a Spitfire that I started over three years ago. Well it's almost done, just some more weathering needed on the engine and the wheels. Nothing special about the build, added some wires and plumbing to the engine, and photo etch Rolls Royce logos to the valve covers. Everything went well on the build, but the underside mix turned out to be too dark after weathering, so I put it away for a few years and recently decided to finish it. The kit decals were less than ideal. I not a big fan of Tamiya decals, but normally I can make them work with hot water and Japanese setting solution, however these seemed to be even lower quality than most Tamiya decals, too bad. SinuheH
Nice model - especially the engine detail - great to see a Spitty in desert scheme! Wow..pointed wingtips!? Is that right..mark 8? I've never seen wings like that Pointed wing tips on Mk. VIII's were not uncommon. Quite a few SAAF Spitfire MK. VIII's had pointed wings e.g.. AX-B Billy Boy: (note camp scheme is incorrect) Edited January 22, 2014 by SinuheH
is it windy yet?
Thank you for all the kind words and support. I only have 4 more of this kit build. I want to do a clipped, and standard wing from 417 squadron. Then one from the Far East, and one undecided spare. Ron
