Piprm
Finished up the 4+ day masking job tonight: And moved on to paint! For the gray putty I went with Tamiya Medium Sea Gray 2. The darker putty splotches up front look very much like RLM 81 in the color photos, so that's what I went with, using a mix of Tamiya XF-27, XF-22 and XF-10. I won't be able to remove all of the masking until tomorrow, but I went ahead and stripped one of the stabilizers to show the effect (FYI the stab putty lines were intentionally left broad...fuselage lines will be narrower for the most part). At last!!! Somebody has finally got those putty-lines right for once!!! (It was never the Yellow-Green color - RLM 99 often depicted)... Congrats to you Matt! The grey is described as close to color RLM 75 Grey ... The dark patches around the nose and bottom of the gun-bay is (believe it or not) ...a red-brown colored putty.. I have a color-chip of this particular color and has no RLM ident number, as it never is an official sanctioned 'Paint'. I can take a photo of this red-brown color chip for you to match Matt, if you need... Watching this with all eagerness! DoogsATX
Pulled off the liquid frisket off tonight. If you've never used it before, it can literally be rubbed off. Stubborn pieces can be teased up with a toothpick and then rubbed off. Infinitely prefer this stuff to maskol and similar. Lars Befring

DoogsATX
Sure Jeff - It's from Polak, their Wild Meadow - Variant C. Only place I know that sells it is in Australia, but dang was it worth it! http://www.modellers-warehouse.com.au/Wild%20places/Foliage%20mats%202%20page/scalemodelinggra.html
