radial
When airbrushing with the compressor pres. Gauge set at say 20PSI the gauge fluctuates between 7-18 PSI while spraying. All my compressors do this. The question is what is actual pressure coming out of the AB during these fluctuations? What is the actual "useable" PSI? Av8fan
7-18 psi? are all of the connections correct? Sounds to me like your hose connections are not correct. Or maybe I am not reading this right. For my system, with the the trigger disengaged the gauge is showing appoximately 10-12psi depending on where I set the bleed regulator. When I hit the trigger, the gauge shows 8-10psi. This is constant. there is no swing of 11psi as your system is giving you. Once you hit the air trigger the regulator should only drop a few psi(IMHO) I use something like this with the moisture trap, regulator and guage all together. http://www.tcpglobal.com/airbrushdepot/abfilter.aspx There are other kinds, cheaper or more expensive. Also be aware of possible air hose issues. Not all hoses fit every regulator. Edited October 18, 2013 by Av8fan
Edgar Brooks
As well as pressure, you need to consider air flow. If your compressor doesn't supply at least .5cu.ft./min, it probably won't satisfy your airbrush. Edgar
