RevG 109 G-6, this is what you get

Thanks Andreas

Like the flap idea, interesting to see how that looks when fitted.

The undercarriage attachment is clever. I never liked the fact that Hasegawa legs plugged into a solid area and tried to correct this on a K-4 - this makes life easier.

The wheels and tyres are about as good as IJ can be I think. They're not as good as the ones Barracuda have just released, but hey! those are resin and cost about 25% of the whole Revell kit cost, these are best OOB wheels I've seen for a 109, and will satisfy most.

If you don't mind, something I'd like to see is whether Revell have modelled other optional filler points. I see on the test shots that the compressed air filler for the MK108 cannon for the /U4 version is there, but what about the MW50 filler on the right hand spine....? Only a thought...

Thanks for taking the time to take and post these photos.

Looks nice. Anyone know if a tropical version can be built from this kit?

... Probably not ... although there is enough AM out there!! ... Don't quote me, but I THINK I saw a trop filter assembly listed on the MDC site?

Hi,

some more pictures after my breakfast:

meat ball Beule:

The a-market will provide us very soon with corrections. I myself am "correcting" these to show that this is possible (with some effort). I do not know about any reliable construction drawings of these yet. We HAVE TO interpret from photos, no other chance. Photo evidence tells that there where different executions of the theme.

Tropical version:

Simpla, NO, it´s a shame, sorry, can´t help.

Design:

Jennings, you are rattling a can. I wanted to avoid this discussion in public, but your comment in a way forces me to a statement.

As shown in my previous pictures the designer has creative ideas and is a world class talent, no question about this.

BEFORE he took over this job he had no idea about the 109 and even after finishing he still has some difficulties with this plane, but: Who does not have????

What you call "experten" really were and are !EXPERTEN! . Their standard of information of course differs - can it be different with such a subject? - So this and that had to be discussed which cost valuable time and sometimes nerves, on all participating sides. What I can state is: Without the experts we would not have a kit worth this thread but something for the trash bin. Some of the issues were addressed in time but not executed, this is simply a matter of truth but this cannot and must not be discussed here and I ask everyone to follow this appeal !

I would superimpose myself over all the participants in this project to give out a THANK YOU ALL. Tis is not my status and position .But a Thank You should be spoken by anyone who can slip into this role: the valuable modeler who has fun with this model.

I will meet two most responsible persons of this project today and we will surely discuss the 109 and we will surely try to find some positive ways into the future on this model.... And you will not read anything about this talk here.

My Müsli is waiting, then some pictures.

Müsli is finished, here they come

hatches on the right fu

Clear parts, always a crucial moment... Here the later head armor

frontal armor and gas tube

gunsights, .. ehem..., Quickboost also wants to earn some money

DSC_0386.jpg

The main parts: the canopy is clear, free from distortion. The framing is set off, no fine engravements we know from Hasegawa.

DSC_0385.jpg

The tool shop achieved a high standard (so will be the parts for the upcoming Ju 88 A-4).

DSC_0384.jpg

left side Revell, right Hasegawa

DSC_0383.jpg

The Revell has less material thickness. The base is nearly 1mm narrower (and with this correct) and will fit the standard Hasegawa kits.

It´s a long way to Tipparary. It will take some time to get it proper. The Hasegawa Klopps on the right is of question, too (surround shape).

I think I finish now. Some aspects are left out (cockpit, wheel wells, landing gear struts and more). You now have a quite good overall impression of the kit. More stuff to be written is left to modeling mates. They will surely detect other pros and cons.

Cheers

well there too many pictures, so a little addition:

DSC_0382.jpgDSC_0391.jpg

The cockpit assembly must be done first, it is a "snap tite" ( as a completed group), no glue required.

It is a K - cockpit from a test shot for a future project.

Thank you Andreas..

So we have all parts and filler ports moulded necessary to do a G-14, that is good to know. Mine just arrived but I haven't looked at it yet.... must finish work..

Once again, thanks.

Looking at these photos and having built quite a few recent Revell kits, I am sure that this will be a great kit to build.

I feel that the level of detail and fit of the releases by Revell is really good - and it is a brand that has a policy that encourages all kinds of modellers. When someone builds a model for the first time, these kit are not do difficult, but with a good level of detail. They can be an excellent base to superdetail as well. And the price of these kits, well it keeps the hobby really accessible.

I've never been close to the production of a kit, but working in advertising, I am pretty sure that a brand like Revell doesn't want to produce anything but the best possible kit. They will know where to find the best possible team to produce a kit and will probably recognise the specialists in a blink. Not only for the kit itself, but also for the markings. How the kit is planned and engineered probably is very complex, but it's only the result that counts. No-one will buy a bad kit because the brand did a 'good effort'; the only way a kit becomes a success is by being a great kit, especially these days with so much competition around. I sure hope this G6 will be as great as it looks.

I can't wait to get my hands on this one (and the Spitfire Mk II later this year). I'll build one at the time, but I'll probably build a few!

Wrapping all this up, what I would like to know is where the new Revell Gustav is more or less accurate of his older Hasegawa brother?

What really matters for me is the shape of major airframes parts, not the position of small access doors, air intakes or panel lines.

Some more side by side phots would be very appreciated.

Cheers,
