RevG 109 G-6, this is what you get

Hi,
some comments:
What you see IS in the box, nothing is left out for this boxing.

Of course, Revell will bring some variations on the theme, so there will be different parts which are not shown yet.

The parts break down of the upper wings was chosen to represent the proper "attic" of the wheel well, so there will be alterations...

The photo of the clear parts is not very well (detail pictures later). The Erla hood is the later type with the rounded framing. You may also notice that some space is left free on the clear parts sprue. Against earlier intentions two types of tall rudders are included (sharp and rounded edge), a wise decision that makes me happy. The main wheels come with treaded and "plain" tires and with the plain and the ribbed rims. There are some "issues" with the kit, see Brett`s build of a test shot over on HS. All these demanded corrections can be made with home grown methods or you wait a little until the a-market makes appropriate offers. The upcoming ADH book on this model will be a great help!

The add-on side panels with the odd vertical division line makes some sense. We should thank the designer for this marvelous idea. With just two lateral and one top panel and the bigger supercharger, the a-market can supply us with late versions Revell is not intending to produce. I am rather sure that somebody will pick up this opportunity.

Have a nice weekend

Kev, you can do with the pictures whatever you like to do.

Accuracy: The main advantage over the Hasegawa kit is the height of the fuselage and the shape of the front. The spinner has the correct shape (although the D.o.C. set from Poland cannot be beaten). Again, the ADH book will be a great help. It is going to the printers now.

Tooling: The Chinese toolshop has improved a lot over the recent products. The clear parts have a very high standard. (The upcoming Ju 88 A-4 in August has very very good standard, so will be the EC-135 heli).

Bf 109 F: Not intended for production, but of course this can be done from the G-6 or you wait for another variant. The canopy with its different framing will be a problem but the Hasegawa F canopy will fit.

... Nice summary ... was looking at a couple of Trumpy or Hase ones ...

but might do with a couple of Revells offering, depending on pricing when released, considering the options.

I can always go AM on the decals ...

Thanks

Rog :)

Thank you Andreas, very informative.

We will be doing a multi build review of this kit too...

Either way, my guess is the bottom has completely gone from the Hasegawa 109 market - certainly in Europe the Hassy kit seems crazily priced in comparison.

Thanks again for the continued stream of news Andreas - very much appreciated

;)
