LSP_Mike
yesterday we had an IPMS regional here, and I was awarded a third for this little beastie. To say I was surprised would be an understatement, but, as I've been told, "You only win if you enter". I did, and am happy just to have placed. LSP_Mike
Thanks guys, for the comments, always good to get a little home team support.I forgot to mention that I ran into Skyhawk-Dave, and we were able to have a good talk. I have no pics, as I was pretty focused on trying to SELL, and then have the iron discipline to not buy. I only bought 1 Panther G, Tamiya quad gun tractor, and an Academy F-18. The seller wanted 100 for the kit, and 50 for the resin 'pit. I asked if he had some "wiggle room" , and after a minute he plonked the 'pit down on the box, and said"110$".... end of iron discipline and I tried not to scorch the money as it came out of my pocket. I managed to trade for a Bf2-c1(for the upcoming F-11 conversion backdate), F-84E, Messaschnitzel, a trumpy P-40b, and a resin 'pit for my F-80. We had an airshow going on at the same time, and I got to see a PB4Y flying. What a huge plane; a PBY was in the air also, plus the usual mix of American iron: Wildcats, Bearcats, Texans, TBMs, and some others. A fun day. billwinkes
I know what you are feeling. I entered the AMPS Nationals for the first time and was awarded a Silver Medal for Basic closed top armor. i was amazed and gratified. It certainly is motivation to build better (and maybe, more) models. Bill
DrDave
Our comrades spread wide and far, comrade. Your model is a classic example of socialist modelling. The nomenclature smile upon you and wish you to excel yourself in new endeavours spreading the socialist miracle. Next you shall build the silver wings polikarpov. The party wishes it. You shall comply? Derek B
LSP_Mike
Doc, I'd love to, but need to amass enough rubletskis to afford one. At this point, my wish list is: P-61, B-25,Fok.DVII(x2) eindekker, Snipe, post war DH-9a, Salmson, AEG, Walrus, I-153,Ryan PT-22..... ......and IF Model Airways does the Dr-I in 1/16th, one of those. Did I hear that Trumpy is doing a 1/200 USS Hornet? Bill, well done sir, for the Silver. Open judging right?

DrDave
Mikeski! Youre intentions are good. Recreate the biplanes of the filthy capitalists to show how their stooges pinched the Polikarpov monoplane ideal! Derek B
