shepard
Hi there my friend.. greetings from Brazil.... Very nice weathering look my friend.. The Hinomarus are always well painted and doesnt have any marks of weathering, chipping etc. If the plane still at service, the marks are always painted and painted and just a little bit of fade can be noticed... Its a kind of "superstition" if you know what i mean.. just my two cents my friend hope you understand don´t get me wrong ok? LSP_Kevin
Mikkel, that looks fabulous! Great work. I do agree with Shep though, in that my understanding is the hinomarus were always well maintained, irrespective of the state of the rest of the paintwork. I am very happy that you pointed out the always well preserved hinumarus on japanese planes. Going over my references it is quite obvious that the crews took great care in keeping them in good condition. It sure was a DOH moment though when i read your post, but im happy i got it fixed now. Thanks a lot for pointing it out Cheers Mikkel Mikkel, that looks fabulous! Great work. Thanks for letting me know. I just luv this forum I went over the chipped spots on the hinumarus and sprayed the spots with a slighty lighter red then i used originally. This gives a slightly blotchy look, but i think i worked out so it corresponds nicely with the overall appearance. Also i read that the red paint oxydixed and faded a lot so it was quite common to see a wide range of red hues on a well weathered hinumaru even if it was well kept. Also got the quickboost exhausts painted. Thanks for looking Mikkel shepard

Thomas Lund
It looks awfull in an awesome way - great job !! With regards to the Hinomaurus, it was a sacret symbol for the Japanese, so that's why it was always maintained even if the rest of the plane was rather shabby.
