mgbooyv8
Hi guys, I'm proud to present my 4 year old (o.k, almost 5 ) daughter Hannah with her first two platstic plane models. They are the Kids Fun Factory Spitfire-ish and Mig 29-ish kits complete with paint and brush which can be found very cheap in drugstores etc. They are ideal for introduction into modelling. She build and painted the models herself! Here she is painting the Mig 29: And here she shows her completed models Hannah enjoyed the experience and is very very proud on the results. Now she is pondering in which "museum" (= model display cabinet) the models have to be displayed. I'm a proud dad. Guest Peterpools
Fantastic way to experience the hobby together .... Father and Daughter building and working side by side. Indeed, Hannah is very proud of her work, as by her awesome smile !
mgbooyv8
Thanks Peter! That's the future plan (I hope ) . These two were actually done with her mother (not a modeller by the way). Her first choice was a colorful die cut folding model of a tilt rotor. It was similar to a paper model but made of styrene and pretty complicated. she build it together with me. That one is already on display in the "museum". Cheers, Peter

DaneBramage
Peter!! That is AWESOME!!!! Hannah has a future as a modeler (rather than a model--think about it) !!! I think this hobby is forgetting where the future is. It is children having a blast making and paint their models what ever they want!!! I built the Aurora Mummy kit when I was 3 going on 4. And I still think about my dad and I drawing Sabre Jets.Hannah will have memories of this too... She is our future.
Squito2340
The future of modelling is bright. Efforts to encourage our youngsters are not only rewarded immediately but there will also be rewards in the future. Great Job Hannah and great models. Tnarg
It is just wonderful that she feels the power and satisfaction of creating something with her own hands. Lots of fun in that experience, and it is even more fun to share it with Dad. Enjoy! (but you didn't talk about zooming around the room making airplane sounds yet...)
