Still some minor things to be added (outside metal steps) but the main build is done.

I added a figure to give you an idea of the size.

Erwin, after our email exchange the other day, i checked this thread more thoroughly and i must say i'm impressed.

Your knowledge of construction and background of these structures is very good, and it shows in all the parts you made untill now, good show.

greetz,

Jack.

All the bunkers are painted.Finding the correct shade wasn't easy. It's a mix of several grays.Once placed in the diorama surounded with sand I'm sure they will look OK.

Note that the PAK 40 is also inside the bunker.

When I was doing the lay-out for the dio,I found an rather empty space.I decided to make one of the most used MG position. The Tobruk bunker.

I've made the dioramabase.(112 cm x 61 cm) This should be roughly 110 m X 55 m of Atlantikwall.

To give you an idea of the size,I've added the bunker lay-out and placed some obstacles.

Erwin,

Great updates and good work.

Thank you.

As info.

I made the trenches from bricks as they were during the war at Ostend (where I live)

I used "new bricks" for my dio as it depicts the Atlantikwall when newly build.

Added the anti tank obstacles and filled the spaces with styrofoam to preshape the dunes.

( I ran out of obstacles. So the two missing behind the front trench will be added later)

Erwin,

Last night I saw a snippet of a documentary that they were advertising on TV. And guess what , the subject was trenches and tunnels during WWI etc..I am looking forward to it..

I think you won't be able to get it where you are but I do believe it is on channel 5 in the UK.

LOOKS INTERESTING and when they showed I thought of your Atlantikwall, as it showed similar structures..

FYI.

MARU 5137.

Nice to hear that my work does capture the reality a bit.

Not that difficult for me.I only have to walk 1 Km from my home and I am at the Atlantikwall where I get my insperation from.

Stareted with the sand. This is made from woodpulp mixed with water and wallpaperglue.

Once dried it stays in that color. No extra painting.

The spaces between the dragonsteeth and top of pillbox dry faster as the layer is less .
