BLACK "L" as JABO BAIT ME-262 Trump.

Recommended Posts

Well , The Emil build does not exactly feel like an Out of the box thing. I decided to start something simple. Recently I bought this kit from John a.k.a. Dane Bramage (BTW great guy to deal with) and ask him to make the choice in terms of camo, under one conditions "must be dirty or otherwise different from the crowd, no aces just a work horse"

anyways, this is a great choice and The idea is to slap it together, no questinos asked.....or else :)

here is a result of few hours from this afternoon

Nice choice of markings, I do like the captured equipment. One detail for you, with the US stars and bars, they were not reguation size nor colour on these aircraft and fairly hap hazzardly slapped on.

Thanks for stopping by Brad, you are absolutelly right, I started to study the metamorfosis of this plane and my build will follow the events as close as I will be able to reproduce and cover the radical changes of this process.

Quick work Martin, and good choice of markings too. No Czech one? :wicked:

Hi Kev,

Yeah, I decided to go quick and easy, so I can enjoy what I like the most, painting. The Czech one? is that a trigger word ? ... , well ...most likely....probably.. , I knew You're gonna ask that, so NO IS THE ANSWER , for now! :punk: Just to roud it up, there are few reasons for that

  • Czech museum Pague Kbely repainted one of the two existing and perfectly renovated exemplars into LW colors (huge disgrace)
  • there is a lack of photographs
  • no wear and tear detected , from the pictures I've seeen, therefore BOOOOORING

Well I will try to do my best to keep you guys entertained and Eye-happy :)

Cheers

M.

Derek, thanks for stopping by. Actually You kinda inspired me with a build of yours. I had to dig into my stash of materials and viola. Now we are like :punk: the 262 buddies, we can go to washroom together and stuff... :punk: btw If you need a set of full engines with nacelles, guns or radio compartment stuff, just let me know.

Cheers

Thanks Martin - maybe not with this particular build, but I will be making another 262 at some point, so I may ask you later. Thank you also for the very kind words (I'll hold off on the wash room part if you don't mind?).

I look forward to seeing how black 'L' turns out :speak_cool:

Cheers

Thanks to dropping in guys :). And we have an update here!!! :evil_laugh: Let us say that our factory has still a fair amount of zinc to mix with the putty, so the color is not going to be grey, but standard yellowish as you know it from your local supplier. My friend pufo said that Merrick said that Germany in 1944 was short of zink,,, oh well,,, i am not :)

So after some rescribing and filling, i drop a coat of silver on the main surfaces, then polish the whole think with a soft wheel to mimic rolled alu surface (do not know why?), and with some available yellowish color i snapped on some putty lines.

Thanks to Tomas (Pufo) for vital help and sharing his knowledge.jabobait003.jpgjabobait001.jpgjabobait002.jpg
