BarryWilliams Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 Very nice work on one of my favourite aircraft..... Not for me though - I build to relax and do not like to fight with badly engineered or poor fitting kits, this kind of build would stress me out too much, I have enough of that at work. I m hoping a nice 'shake 'n bake' new tool Beaufighter will be forthcoming one day.....
Cees Broere Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 (edited) Well you can shake this kit as hard as you like, it just won't fit. An update Edited June 19, 2013 by Cees Broere sandokan 1
Cees Broere Posted June 13, 2014 Author Posted June 13, 2014 It's been a while. Now the Tempest is finished I have taken this biggie back from Hibernation, am working on the ricket blast shields now. Will post pics when Progress is made. Cheers Cees
airscale Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 man that looks sweet... very nice job Cees - will you make a new canopy & blister as the kit ones are for a frighteningly early Mk1F & have extraneous framing? I sent some finished ones I did for my shelf of doom late mark Beau to Derek that he may not be using for his upgrade kit masters, they are likely too fragile for that - I could ping him a note to see if he can send them on if needed - just PM me looking great & love this aeroplane Peter Cees Broere 1
Cees Broere Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 Peter, You have a pm. Strange that Revell chose to kit a very early Beau of which only a limited number Were made. Cheers Cees
Guest Peterpools Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Cees great to see the Beaufighter back on the bench and waiting for the first - update. Keep 'em coming Peter
alaninaustria Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Go Cees! This is looking good so far mate! Great subject too! Cheers Alan Cees Broere 1
Kagemusha Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Great to see more progress, Aviaeology have a couple of decal sheets for future release, featuring all twelve subjects from this sheet
Cees Broere Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 Thanks chaps, Kagemusha I have a different set for well known NE355. This one look great too. Choices choices. Been working on the rocket blast shields today, pics soon Cheers Cees
Derek B Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 OK, Dragged my Beau patterns out again and I will assess the canopy situation. Great work on your kit Cees. Derek
airscale Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 OK, Dragged my Beau patterns out again and I will assess the canopy situation. Great work on your kit Cees. Derek thanks Derek - it was these parts in the box I sent over - the rear blister, the canopy, and canopy roof you can just see peeking out beneath an u/c door.. I recall they were very thin acetate I used for vacforming so likely not much use as a master and they had cockpit lamps and sun blind details added etc, but over to you to decide.. Peter Derek B 1
Cees Broere Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 That canopy looks very nice. The observers cupola is the early version. Cheers Cees
Cees Broere Posted June 15, 2014 Author Posted June 15, 2014 (edited) Some progess. The rocket shields are finished. Some scribing to do and a strip of Tamiya tape at the Front to represent a doped piece of fabric. Later a flat plate with the rocket launchers Will fit on top of the shield. I like how it turned out, as the shape is quite complicated. Cheers Cees Edited June 15, 2014 by Cees Broere Derek B 1
