Not much to report other than a lot of sanding. The oil cooler intakes are now back into the wing and

took a lot of sanding. I noticed on e-bay that there is a vacform canopy and an etch metal set. Why

bother to make it yourself when someone has done the work for you (lazy me).

Got the vacform canopy and it looks great, including the observers cupola, that saves a lot of time.

Also my model will be a RCAF Mk X Coastal Command. I got the Aviaeology decals which look very nice. Also the aircraft has

invasion stripes so will be very colourful with a lot of weathering.

Nice start, looks weird in sand coloured plastic - I've only seen it in yummy black. Great looking plane, does what it says on the tin!

Update,

I planned to do the whole fuselage as a lot can be seen, however the Mk X has a bulkhead which makes

live easier. Also pic of the decals, porcupine exhausts and vacform canopy.

This really is an absolute favourite aircraft of mine so I'm very keen to watch this coming together and, knowing your skills, I know I won't be disappointed! Love what you've done so far.

Wow, a lot of interesting stuff going on here. Cees, I sees that you got some amazing scratch building skills. I have the old Revell kit and I hope to build it one.

My I suggest that that you move your camera back an other couple off inches from your point of subject in the pics. Please, do that this the wrong way I'm not try to tell you how to take your pics. You do as you like. I'm just suggesting that way all your close-up pic will be in focus.

Update, no pics yet. Photobucket seems to have a hole in it.

Since the last update, time flies, a large amount of work has been done.

The observers compartment is finished and detailed, the pilot's compartment will follow soon.

I have concentrated on the wings which are nearly ready, they needed rescribing and

Updating, but look great now. Pics to follow soon.

Bottomline is, these old kits are great fun.

Nice project Cees! You are doing a fine job of the Beau, and I suspect making many of us here think about moving ours up the queue.
