Very nice, Very very nice !

I'm getting ready to start my Ar 196 soon, and your build is just that nice it's inspiring.

I did notice and have been thinking long and hard about the Eduard instrument panel. The newer pre painted ones just don't have that realistic "glass face dial look" Which is why you went with the Krystal Kleer. I was thinking the same thing and you confirmed it. I kinda wish that Eduard would go back to the film instruments...

Hey a real quicky if ya don't mind. Do you know what the actual colors used in the cockpit were ? (I don't like the Eduards RLM 66 look alike color) Every thing I've seen seems to say RLM 02, Also would the colors change say after a 1942 repaint ? (like over to RLM66) I might wind up trying the kit instrument panels with Kagero instrument decals, or try and repaint the Eduard ones.

TIA :-)

Thanx for sharing !!

Hi Allan ... greetings from Brazil to you my friend. im glad that you are liking it.

About the RLM colors, you are right, and im about to do some shades of my RLM 02.

Luftwaffe cockpits were, RLM 02, a light green with shades of medium gray, or RLM 66, a darker gray. Later, RLM 66 became the standard color. RLM 02 on early war cockpits of lufts aircraft. Some bigger bombers tended to be RLM 66 more often.

BTW. the eduard pre painted p.es. didnt glues well when you prime de kit part.... you must let them free of paint and well clean...if you want stuck them well in place...

You can use FUTURE if you have no Krystal Klear...same tec. toothpick with some layers waiting them to dry...

Hi Shep. (and big Hello from Virginia USA)

Thanx for responding !

I'm slowly grinding through a 1/48 TBD-1 but am researching for my upcomming AR 196 build. Reason I'm asking questions and following every Ar 196 build here. And your's is going to really be something when done !

I got the Eduard Big Ed set, Master Models Mg barrels, and the Quickboost exhaust.. After the cockpit the only thing that bothers me is the stupid canopy. I'll figure that one out later...

Thanks again

Hi Allan... again, you are 100% right... im avoiding talk about the canopy.... :help:

It will be a real challenge thats for sure... lets wait a little bit more...if you know what i mean...

Why doesnt anyone of the aftermarket god´s made vacform ones or something that helps us???

Revell.. in the name of "budget" made them so tricky that will be a test of my average skills...

tks again for your comment my friend

Hi there... a quick question for you guys... fuel lines goes to and fuel tank are located on the floats?

And somebody has a pic of the internal structs after the rear machine gun?

The fuselage, has two plates one on the side and one on the top that are not fabric ones... what we have inside them??

im thinking to go to the kagero arado top drawing one what do you guys think?

some help will be very apreciated

tks in advance

The top drawing book only gives exterior drawings nothing interior except dashboard . Has some nice decals

The book you want is Ar 196 #45 3045 from the same company Kagrero. gives the interior truss layout which Revell got all wrong and float layout s of the different variants.

The compartment on top in the rear is for the main Compass (mother compass).
