Wolf Buddee Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Hi Johan, here's a pic of the universal air intake from my model showing the drain hole in the lower housing. Sorry I couldn't find an actual photo or the drawing I had used but it's location is based on photos and drawing in the Monforton bible on the Spitfire Mk IX & XVI. Hopefully my photo helps in explaining what I was trying to say in my earlier post. Cheers, Wolf
Pfuf Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Hi folks some time after my last post did have the flu very bad so reading the forum the only thing I enjoyed. So little progress did look for a nice dirty under side maybe a bit less still have to look at it for a bit more. I started on the top side first the green this is the first paint on the plastic so just to set up the contours of the patern keeping the the layer very thin I hope to keep much of the fine detail a life. Still need to drill the oil drain hole only the seam I leave it like it is. Have fun Johan.
jeroenpeters Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Lovely work as always Johan. I love the depth in your spraying technique. Very convincing. Echt waanzinnig. Cheers, Jeroen
Pfuf Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) Hi People I am back from a very busy time So not much time to post any progress on the Spits. Did enjoy LSP forum just no time to work on my own models. I finally come to the the point I can use the Paint mask from miracle mask I got in some trouble because of some sticky fingers I forgot to clean the area behind the cockpit where I hold it. So afther the paint job was done I removed the mask and with it the paint Grrr so I need to redo the roundels between the letters but thats for tomorrow. Hope you like it. The shading is a drop dark green and black in a airspary full cup of with clear matt clear finish al this will lighten up later on with some shading with the base colors. Have fun johan Edited October 11, 2012 by Pfuf
jeroenpeters Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Geezzz Johan... Incredible spraywork. Sorry to hear you made a boo boo. Glad to hear even you make them though ))) Keep it up! Are you going to Veldhoven on Sunday? Cheers, Jeroen
LSP_Kevin Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 Welcome back Johan! You have such incredible skill with an airbrush. I have to confess though that I find your preshading a little stark and heavy. I'd prefer it to be more subtle, but I'm sure I'm in the minority here, and my opinion on the matter in no way detracts from your marvelous builds. Kev
Pfuf Posted October 12, 2012 Author Posted October 12, 2012 Thx Jeroen and Kev Hi did the roundels this evening in one go lol stress if I did pull any fress paint of.
