large small scale kits

I have several large 1/72 kits that I have finished.

The XB-70 (31"long x 18" wingspan)

The XB-35 (12" long X 27" wingspan)

I am currently working on several other large aircraft, the TU-22M (1/72), B-2 (1/72 - the "what we think it might look like" kit produced before the aircraft was unveiled), and SR-71B (1/48)

While none of these aircraft are large scale (I wouldn't want a 1/32 scale of any of them) none are small models..

I also have the following to do in 1/72

B-2 (actual aircraft)

B-52

TU-22B

TU-95

TU-16

XB-49

EC-135

B-36

B-47

AC-130

and in 1/48

B-58

B-17

Catalina

TSR-2

So I will definitively need more shelf space in the future...

Wow, cool models! I especially like the XB-70. I still fondly remember Russ's escapades with his 1/32 SR-71 scratch-build, and his sadly never-realised plans for a companion XB-70.

Recscribed the XB-70 as most of the panel lines you see do not exist on the model. I had to search the internet to find 3 view drawings of the XB-70. The best site? One from Russia! Go figure.

The kit is a putty hog, just like the SR-71 kits (pick one they all are). Squadron putty had best 3rd quarter ever last year! I am in the process of rescribing the SR-71B right now.

All of those are beautiful but I particularly like the Valkyrie and SR-71. I've toyed with the idea of building these kits but I'm not very good at scribing. Very tempting though. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,

Don

I was just thinking about Russ tonight. Seeing this makes me a bit melancholy, but only because he was taking on such a project in 1/32 scale. That and I just still really miss that guy...

Great work on your large/small (or is it small/large) kits!!
