Much appreciated, as it's nice to be close to finally getting close to finishing the Jug after so many years. I still have a bit of work to do and need to clean up the decals in the turbo boost doors, as well add add the missing door.

Appreciate the comments regarding the Star and Bars. I still have to add the one missing door and both clean up ( I didn't realize how rough the decal edges were in the radiator door until I took a closer look at the photos tonight) and finish the insignia in the exhaust radiator. I had a terrible time with the decals in this area, as the decals cracked and split more times then I care to remember.

Thanks for the kind works, as they are much appreciated. It's been a bit over a two year project filled with frustration and who remembers what. While the Jug is far from perfect, it sure feels good to finally see her getting close to the finish line.

Thanks Matt and much appreciated.

The more I look at the photos (which never seem to lie) and always have a nasty habit of emphasizing the errors, omissions and mistakes, the "go back and fix it list, seems to be growing. I'm still hoping to roll her out this weekend and start the Skyraider.

Thanks Ron, much appreciated.

I remember way back at the start, it was your Jug that got me going on the Farmingdale in the first place. Thanks for all the help along the way.

UPDATE: 9/1/13 FINISHED AND IN THE BOOKS.

For now, I'm calling the Farmingdale Jug finished and in the books. It's been a long journey of over two and half years; shelved after finding myself way over my head as the Jug was one of the first kits I attempted after nearly a 30 year hiatus from the hobby. Knowing the Jug had to be finished, I bit the proverbial bullet, purchased a second kit and saved what I could and dove head first into the project. I learned a lot along the way, including switching from Tamiya acrylics back to Model Master enamels paints, after posting my first set of cammo photos and being very disheartened with the results. I struggled with decals that cracked and broke at every corner including those from Cutting Edge, EagleCal and even Hasegawa; I never figured out what was the cause but since it was across the board, it had to be something I was doing.

At each step of the way and after each build update, I went back and tried to make the corrections and add the changes that were suggested. For sure, looking at the Jugs photos on my build thread during constructions, mistakes that I hadn't seen at the bench, were easy to spot; fixing some of them was another story.

I lost count how many times I broke off the pilots seat head armor piece and it's really a miracle I still had it at the end, rather then a being a snack for the Carpet Monster. There still is a few odds and ends to re-do and I'm not happy at all with the machine gun streaking, but I'll do some touch up work a bit down the road. Sometimes, it's better to leave well enough alone, give it a rest and come back another day.

So far now, The Farmingdale Jug is done and heads off to the display case.

Thanks for all the help, suggestions and comments along the way. And thanks for checking in as the Jug went through it's growing pains. Additional photos will be in the Ready for inspection section

John

Appreciate the kind words. Now if I could only do a NMF half as good as yours, I surely would be a happy camper.

Thanks Peter but I'm sure you'd be able to do NMF quite well. :)
