Dear Brain,

Your scale model is amazing and it's a reference for my fisrt scale model costruction (I know I'm crazy). I decided to make the same Su-30MMK n°504 ; I bought all materials, kits, accessoiries etc... But I'm very sad cause I can't find nozzles from Pitzmodel. Could you send me a digital copy of the construction manual ? I'm a 3D CG artist and I think I can reproduce them in PE or with a 3D printer. I would like too, a list of all the MM paint you use....

Thank you very much for all tips and tricks you could give me.

Thanks Rudy. Ill see if I can find the instructions (think I still have them) and send them to you. Just PM me here with your E-mail address.

The paint was mainly a custom mix of MM enamel yellow zinc chromate primer, and MM insignia white. I just mixed them until I was satisfied with teh color matching the 1:1 bird. Then I took and lightened that color by 5 or maybe even more times, with white to make the really faded top color.

HTH,

Brian

Thanks Steve!

Havnt seen this WIP in a LOOOOOONG time.  Although I do walk by the big Russian girl every day, I almost do it SO often I forget what it actually took to get this one done.

With the late discussions again on Trumpy kits, I would have to say this one is one of thier better kits, save the IRST/FLIR ball on the canopy........but that never really bothered me that much.

The big girl is actually un-defeated in contests Ive entered her in..............taking first in aircraft in the local, and regional shows I entered her in. She also took best overall aircraft at our regional show that year..........................I just have not entered her in a NATs event...............which ironically was what I STARTED the SU for; I just didnt make the 2011 NATs like I wanted. Someday, IF the US NATs get close to me again, I might take her.

Thanks for the kind words!

Haha, thanks Maru!    This one is brought back from the great beyond!     It was a fun build. I think its the ONLY model I have ever made that stood undefeated in IPMS competition garnering a 1st and/or best of at every show I entered it in including the NATs.     Not sure Ill ever be able to top that mark!
